Reinstatement Process
The Reinstatement Process begins in the office of your Academic Dean. Please contact the office of the Dean of the College/School in which you were suspended in order to begin the Reinstatement Process.
Final decisions regarding reinstatement are made by your Academic Dean.
If your Dean has required you to construct an academic improvement plan, please follow the steps below.
Step 1. Contact Center for Academic Success and Engagement staff member Regina Easley-Young, by email at Regina_Easley-Young@baylor.edu regarding completion of your Academic Action Plan for reinstatement.
Step 2. As you prepare to complete your Academic Action Plan, you should review your next term course schedule. Consider retaking courses for which you earned a grade of F or D. You may wish to consult your regular advisor about this strategy. You should consider whether you will register for STL 1200 Strategic Learning for College Academics OR STL 1101.04 Academic Mentoring if required to do so.
Step 3. Meet with your academic support program advisor to prepare your Academic Action Plan and Reinstatement Agreement that you will deliver with your petition for reinstatement and letter to your academic dean.
Step 4. When you are notified of your reinstatement, you should check your Bear Web account and confirm your required advisor. Even after you are advised, you may need to ask your advisor or someone in the Center for Academic Success and Engagement to contact the Office of the Registrar to assign a registration date. You will also need to complete the Student Reactivation Process prior to the semester you plan to return.
