To whom does the Late University Withdrawal option apply?

• Undergraduate students at the University.

Where can I find the Late University Withdrawal Policy?

• It can be found in the Undergraduate Catalog (beginning in 2019-2020) under the heading, “EXCEPTION TO UNIVERSITY WITHDRAWAL AND RETURN POLICY.”  
• In addition, it may be found in the Late University Withdrawal Checklist (top of this page).

Steps to request a Late University Withdrawal are outlined below:

1. Complete the online University Withdrawal form.
2. Contact the Center for Academic Success & Engagement:
   • Phone: 254-710-8696
   • Email: Withdraw@baylor.edu
3. Submit a letter and supporting documentation to this email: LateWithdraw@baylor.edu
   • These materials must be submitted no later than the day before the next term/semester begins following the term/semester for which withdrawal is sought (e.g., to withdraw from the fall semester, apply by the day before the first day of the spring semester; to withdraw from the spring semester, apply by the day before the first day of the full summer term).
4.  Requests submitted after this deadline will not be considered.

To request a Late University Withdrawal, do I need to complete the online University Withdrawal Form? 

• Yes. 

Should I consider requesting Incompletes for my classes rather than a Late University Withdrawal?

• The Incomplete Policy allows you to complete assignments or exams upon instructor approval when unforeseen circumstances arise near the end of a term.  In contrast, a University Withdrawal eliminates the opportunity to receive any academic credit for the term.  Thus, pursuing Incompletes may include both academic and financial advantages over the alternative of retaking withdrawn courses and paying for them again.

After a Late University Withdrawal, when can I request to return to Baylor? 

• After a Late University Withdrawal is granted, you must sit out a full Fall or Spring semester. 
  • For a Late University Withdrawal in the Fall, the first potential term to return is the following Summer
  • For a Late University Withdrawal in the Spring, the first potential term to return is the following Spring
  • For a Late University Withdrawal in the Summer, the first potential term to return is the following Spring 

What do I need to do to return to Baylor after a Late University Withdrawal?

• As part of requesting reactivation:
  • You must submit a letter and supporting documentation to this email LateWithdraw@baylor.edu confirming that circumstances which necessitated the late withdrawal have been addressed and that you have progressed sufficiently to return to academic studies.  
    • These materials must be submitted no later than two weeks prior to the start of the term/ semester for which reactivation is requested.
• Submit a request for reactivation ( https://registrar.web.baylor.edu/enrollment-registration/returning-student-reactivation).

How will this affect my bill? Will I get a refund? 

• A Late University Withdrawal will not lead to a financial refund for tuition, or related fees, for that term.

If I am already registered for next semester, should I drop my schedule? 

• Yes.
